WEATHER BUCKS TREND FOR FESTIVAL OF THE GALTEES
Bucking previous trends when it always seemed to rain on the weekend of the event, this year’s Festival of the Galtees in Mitchelstown is set for a change of fortune as the weather has taken a major turn for the better.
Even the carnival workers were in good form this week as they worked on the dodgems and rides in Mediterranean-like conditions on Wednesday. There was an air of festivity about in Mitchelstown and it seems that the much loved traditional festival will enjoy a welcome boost for the opening on Friday night.
