TENSE STANDOFF AT MITCHELSTOWN HALLOWE’EN BONFIRE
Residents of the Ardmhuilinn estate in Mitchelstown came out in force on this Wednesday as a group of young people wedged themselves into bonfire material in protest while Cork County Council staff were attempting to remove items from the pile.
The tense one hour standoff between the youths, residents, gardai and council workers came to an end just before 4pm after the council had removed a few large items.
