REMOVAL OF SKIPS THE LAST STRAW FOR YOUNG MITCHELSTOWN FAMILIES
A young Mitchelstown mum living in an unfinished housing estate in the town, has this week described the removal of two skips from the site and abandoning of the waste they contained as simply ‘the last straw’.
When contacted, the builder said he was ‘shocked’ by these developments, while a spokesperson for the company that own the skips, said the action was taken due to the non-payment of their account.
Caroline Quigley, who has been living on the Ard na Greine estate in Mitchelstown for three years, had been working behind the scenes to see if improvements could be made to unfinished areas such as the green.
However she felt compelled to contact The Avondhu on Tuesday after the owners of the skips moved in and removed them.
