PRES BRAIN BOXES NOTCH UP EXCEPTIONAL EXAM RESULTS
Presentation Secondary School in Mitchelstown is celebrating another batch of excellent results in the Junior Cert, Applied Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert examinations for 2009.
In the Junior Certificate exam, Elaine O’Connor from Kildorrery opened the envelope to find she had achieved a grade A, in all her 11 subjects. Now heading into 5th year, Elaine said she was surprised with her results.
Her teachers, who describe Elaine as a good all rounder who enjoys hurling and football, knew that she would come out on top. Next stop will be the Leaving Cert in two years.
“At the moment I don’t know what I will do after the Leaving Cert but I will definitely be heading to college,” Elaine said.
Another Presentation student who came fifth overall in Ireland with her Leaving Cert Applied results is Chloe Murphy from Mitchelstown. She was awarded 98% in the exam and is now looking forward to continuing her education in childcare in Mitchelstown.
“The course here at Presentation Secondary School was excellent. We had hands on experience in lots of different subjects and we went out to different companies to get practical experience in jobs that we are interested in. I am delighted with my results,” Chloe told The Avondhu.
Sinead O’Sullivan from Ballygiblin is off to University College Cork to study Mathematical Science after gaining 600 points in her Leaving Cert. Sinead is a keen sportswoman and plays ladies football with Mitchelstown.
“I enjoyed my time at Presentation Secondary School and would like to thank the teachers and staff here for all their help,” she said.
“On behalf of all the teachers and staff here at Presentation Secondary School I offer congratulations to all the Leaving Cert, Leaving Cert Applied and Junior Cert students on their results and I would like to wish them all the best for the future,” Anne Kirke told The Avondhu.
