PLEA FOR ‘LONG TERM VIEW’ ON MITCHELSTOWN SPORTS AND LEISURE COMPLEX
Tony Lewis of the Mitchelstown Forum Group, the main driving force behind a proposal to establish a sports and leisure complex on a greenfield site in the town, has this week asked local people to ‘take a long term view’ in relation to the issue.
Speaking to The Avondhu, Mr Lewis said, “Negotiations with landowners are ongoing at this point. There is more involved than first envisaged but we are working through the various obstacles and we appreciate everyone’s patience on this.”
“I believe that, from talking to people, the prize at the end of all this, that is a top class integrated sports leisure and community facility, is what people want and we are doing our best to make it happen,” Mr Lewis continued.
