Suggestions were made this week that increases in the consumer price index would allow for a 10 cent increase in the charge for most vehicles, not only on the M8, but for a range of operators around the country.
Intense media speculation on tolling charges followed a move by the operators of the M50 to introduce an increase to the toll applied to all goods vehicles by 10 cent.
