Night at the dogs for Ballyporeen stroke victim this Friday
This Friday all bets are on, as people are being urged to grab their tickets for a night at the dogs, which takes place in Curraheen Park, Cork in support of the Noel O'Callaghan Fund. Buses have been organised from local areas, including Mitchelstown, Araglin, Ballylooby, Ballyporeen, Clogheen and Skeheenarinky.
The organising committee have put the event together to help raise money to go towards customising transport for Noel O'Callaghan, from Ballyporeen, who suffered a major stroke two years ago. They wish to thank everyone who has been so wonderful in contributing to the event thus far.
Tickets, on sale in local outlets and from committee members, cover the admission, a programme and entry into a draw with some top prizes. These include All-Ireland hurling final tickets and overnight accomodation in Dublin, two nights B&B and evening meal at The Royal Valentia Hotel in Kerry, two nights at The Tower Hotel, Waterford and hampers, vouchers, gifts and much more.
The organising committee, friends and family of Noel, would like to thank everybody who have been so wonderful in contributing to this event. People are reminded that only tickets bought from the committee or locally will benefit the Noel O'Callaghan Fund. The first race is at 7.40pm sharp, so patrons need to be at the venue before then.
The draw will be held in Ballyporeen Community Centre on Saturday, May 10 at 8.30pm. As a token of appreciation to everyone who has supported the event in any way, teas and home baking will be served on the night. All are welcome and the committee wish to thank Ballyporeen ICA and friends for providing the refreshments.
