MYSTERIOUS CROW DEATHS IN MITCHELSTOWN
There is mystery this week as to the cause of the death of a large number of crows in Mitchelstown. Readers reported finding dead crows on roads and streets with one bird found on the roof of a car.
Responding to the incidents, local veterinary surgeon, Sandra Spratt said something was affecting the crows which needed to be investigated.
“I have been told that many people who have given the birds water and kept them warm have seen them recover. However, I must advise people to be careful, as birds carry diseases that can affect humans. Be sure to wash your hands fully if you handle one of these crows.”
