KILBEHENNY CLUB'S MAIDEN CYCLE PROVES POPULAR
The bikes were out in Kilbehenny last weekend for the maiden cycle of the Kilbehenny Leisure Cycling Group. Over 15 cyclists took part in what was described as a wonderful morning out in the fresh air.
“Everybody who took part really enjoyed themselves and we are looking forward to our next trip,” Mary Creed told The Avondhu.
The group started their cycle from the Kilbehenny Community Centre at 10am and travelled out to the Kilcoran Lodge Hotel before returning to Kilbehenny later that morning.
“If anybody is interested in joining our group they are more than welcome to come along on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm to the Kilbehenny Community Centre or on Sunday mornings at 10am,” Mary said.
Adults can join the Kilbehenny Leisure Cycling Club for €25 and €15 for children and there is a special family rate (2 adults, 2 children) of just €50.
Membership will cover insurance and affiliation to Cycling Ireland. For more information contact club secretary Anne-Marie Aylward 087-6967166 after 6pm or club chairman Tom O’Flynn 087-2683587.
