ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR FOOD FESTIVAL
Food producers from throughout the region are lining up to take part in the 2010 Mitchelstown Food Festival, writes Brian Moore. Over 40 stallholders have already signed up for the event which will be held at the Mitchelstown Business Park on Sunday, August 29.
“This year the food festival will be the best yet. We have teamed up with the Ballyhoura Food Fair and we are all looking forward to a great day out in the home of good food,” Sean Hyland, chairman of the Mitchelstown Food Festival told The Avondhu.
The actual event will get underway on Saturday, August 28 with the arrival of a brass band from Wales who will be performing at the opening BBQ in The Firgrove Hotel.
“The food festival is all about enjoying some of the fantastic produce this area which has a long association and a world wide reputation for producing good food. Apart for food and other refreshments, there will also be a cookery demo with chef, Jane Clarke an animal show and lots more,” Sean Hyland said.
EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY
John Cleary from Ballyhoura Food Fair is delighted to be part of the Mitchelstown Food Festival 2010, “This is an excellent opportunity for many of the newly set up food companies to get a feel for what the customer feels about their produce. I am looking forward to a great festival in Mitchelstown at the end of the month,” John Cleary said.
