WOMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
Una Geaney, who is originally from Fermoy, has been remanded in custody charged with murder at Clonakilty District Court this week, writes Brian Moore. Ms Geaney (44) has been charged along with Ms Amanda McNab (25) with the murder of Gary Bull at Shanlaragh near Dunmanway in West Cork in 2007.
Mr Bull’s body was found dumped in a slurry tank almost three years ago. Gardai had to drain the slurry pit to remove the body of Garry Bull and a postmortem by the assistant state pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster revealed that he died from severe head injuries consistent with being struck with a blunt instrument.
Gary Bull had been living in a mobile home in a community of up to 200 new age travellers in an area known as Coole Mountain. Two men and a woman have already appeared before the courts in relation to withholding information from gardai investigating Mr Bull’s murder and have received suspended sentences at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.
