Service for the bereaved in Fermoy
A service of light and healing for those both recently and long time bereaved is being held in Fermoy this coming Sunday, September 29th. It'll take place in the Blue Nuns' Convent on Monument Hill. Organised by Sr Una Boland and the Emmaus Bereavement Support Group, it will take place from 4 to 6pm. Refreshments will be served afterwards. All are welcome.
"The service is designed to provide a safe, confidential environment for people to connect with the loved one that has passed over," Sr Una explains.
As a follow up, it's planned to run a six-week support group beginning on Thursday, October 17th and running until November 21st, meeting each week at 7.30pm.
A course is also being organised by Sr Una which will run every second Saturday in the Blue Nuns' Convent from 2.30 to 5pm. The fee is €10 per session. The first afternoon, on Saturday October 26th, will deal with 'choice' as opposed to 'chance'. Life is not a matter of chance, it's a matter of choice, Sr Una stresses, asking if the choices we make are freeing us to live life to the full in the here and now or are we spending our life regretting the past and fearing the future.
On Saturday, November 9th the topic is communication. "Communication is always possible. The way we communicate or connect with others can have a major impact on our lives and that of others," Sr Una says. The session will explore different styles of communicating.
Exploring who we are personally, professionally and spiritually will be explored in the final session, on Saturday, November 23rd.
Refreshments will be served at the sessions. For more information contact Sr Una LCM on 087-6263934.
