SAD PASSING OF POPULAR FERMOY BUSINESSMAN
Kevin Mansfield, a very popular businessman in Fermoy, passed away on Sunday last, May 8 in the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork. Kevin, who ran an off-licence and grocery business on Patrick Street for many years, would have been very well known throughout the community.
“He was a great family man, a very good businessman and a strong supporter of the Fermoy Traders Association,” Cllr Michael Hanley told The Avondhu.
Roy Buttimer, president of Fermoy Lions Club said that Kevin was a very active man down through the years at the club: “He was a founder member and ex-president of the club, and he was the main man in our annual autumn cycle from Fermoy to Ballyduff. He was very heavily involved in any charity work that we did - a lovely man and I would like to extend my condolences to his family on their loss.”
Kevin’s requiem Mass took place on Wednesday, May 11 in St Patrick’s Church, Fermoy, followed by cremation at the Island Crematorium at Ringaskiddy.
The Avondhu offers its condolences to Kevin’s wife Terry and his children David, Judy, Tracy and Alan. May he rest in peace.
