PATRICK IS LAID TO REST IN HIS NATIVE FERMOY
A popular pensioner whose body was recovered following a tragic incident on the River Blackwater has been laid to rest this week in his beloved Fermoy. Patrick O’Connor of Ardville, New Barrack Road, Fermoy was reported missing at 2pm on Thursday, January 19 and family, friends and neighbours from around the town had carried out exhaustive searches of the area until his body was discovered in the river on Sunday afternoon.
The removal of Patrick’s remains took place from Ronayne’s Funeral Home, Lower Patrick Street, Fermoy on Tuesday evening at 8pm to St Patrick’s Church and, surrounded by his family, Mr O’Connor was laid to rest in Kilcrumper Old Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon following funeral Mass at 2.30pm.
