Great turnout in Fermoy for Gaelscoil de hIde run / walk
With summer time ahead and the days getting brighter, we are busy for the remainder of the school year following on from last week's run/walk. We don’t know where the time has gone but Cairde de hÍde along with the teachers and students at Gaelscoil de hÍde are still preparing for a number of events ahead and we look forward to your support.
5K RUN /2K WALK
We would like to thank the committee members of Cairde de hÍde who organised and held the very enjoyable fun walk/run on Sunday last. We were really blessed with the morning and the sun shone on us all. There was an excellent atmosphere and with the runners heading off shortly after 11am the first man home was Don Pyne and our first lady home was Therese Ryan along with her young son Daniel. Well done to you all.
There was a great turnout for the 5k run and thank you and well done. Also a great number of families joined us for thef fun walk and we were led off on the walk by , should I say 'Gentleman in Yellow' or our very own lollipop man and friend Mr Ger Slattery in his beautifully tailored yellow (bright) tuxedo. After the walk/run we had a bit of craic at the school with some refreshments and the medal presentation.
We would like to thank all our volunteers who helped on the day, marshalling and stewarding. We thank you for your support. We would like also to thank the local members of An Garda Siochana for their help on Sunday.
