Fermoy Leisure Centre opens its doors to early risers
In a new development, Fermoy Leisure Centre is introducing early morning swimming every Monday and Wednesday - starting 13th October.
The move is in response to public demand and staff at the centre are confident it will be a big hit with early risers. According to acting manager Gayle Hickey, the necessary arrangements are in place and they will be ready to meet and greet the early birds come Monday the 13th.
"The early opening is to accommodate those travelling from Fermoy and surrounding areas to places like Cork. It's something that clients have been inquiring about so from the 13th October, Fermoy Leisure Centre will open at 6.45am on Mondays and Wednesdays, the early morning session will run from 6.45am to 9.30am." Gayle goes on to point out that there will be public sessions as normal at 11am.
Thanks to the efforts of management and staff, Fermoy Leisure Centre continues to be an extremely popular choice for those seeking a painless (and weather proof way) of getting and staying fit. The centre caters for swimmers of all abilities and provides regular lessons for those wishing to learn.
The Avondhu is teaming up with Fermoy Leisure Centre for a promotional feature which will be carried in next week's edition.
