FERMOY MAN FELL TO HIS DEATH WHILE FEEDING BIRDS
Tragedy struck last week when Fermoy man John Killigrew died after a fall from his ladder, writes Joe Leogue. It is believed Mr Killigrew, who was 72, was feeding birds from a hanging basket when he lost his balance.
Fermoy town councillor, John Murphy said Mr Killigrew was a great friend of his and commended his ‘outstanding’ work for the community.
“I want to pay tribute to John,” Cllr Murphy said, “he was involved in outstanding work in cleaning the Barnane walk. He played a big part in the award Fermoy received for Barnane last year. He was a credit to his community and had a strong love of birds and wildlife.” Mr Killigrew was buried in Kilcrumper Cemetery last Monday.
The Avondhu wishes to express its deepest sympathy to Mr Killigrew’s wife, Helen, daughter Catherine, his extended family and friends.
