END OF PORTACABIN ERA AS NEW SCHOOL GOES TO TENDER
The end of portacabins, which have been serving as classrooms at Rathcormac National School for four decades, is in sight. Work on a new national school there could begin as early as the new year, following confirmation this week that the contract is to go to tender.
The announcement that a contractor is to be appointed for the project was welcomed by Scoil Bhride principal, Margaret Howard who said they were delighted that the dream of a new school looked as if it were about to come to fruition.
The start of work on the new school would signal the beginning of the end for portacabins, that have been in place in Rathcormac for 40 years.…
