COUNCILLORS CALL FOR ACTION ON LETHAL JUNCTION
A Fermoy junction on the N8 has been described this week as an accident waiting to happen, with calls for immediate action to make the area safe for both motorists and pedestrians.
Two separate motions will go before Cork County Council and Fermoy Town Council this month in connection with the junction on the north side of the town on the N8 close to Shinnick’s Shop.
In a joint statement, Fermoy Labour councillors, Noel McCarthy and Tadhg O’Donovan warned that something must be done to prevent a tragic accident, or even loss of life.
“The present situation constitutes nothing short of a major accident waiting to happen,” the two councillors have claimed.... ."
