CALL FOR LOCAL CONTRACTORS ON FERMOY HOUSING SCHEME
Fermoy town councillors have called for a preference to be shown for local contractors with the announcement that the tendering process for a council housing scheme at Oliver Plunkett Hill in Fermoy is to get underway within the next few weeks, writes Brian Moore.
Town manager, Tom Stritch told the assembled councillors that, while funds are not yet in place, a contractor is being sought to begin work as soon as the tendering process is completed.
Cllr Dolan-Moore called on the council to favour any local contractor for the work at Oliver Plunkett Hill, “We have a large number of builders out of work in this town and I would call on the town council to work with these contractors for the housing development at Oliver Plunkett Hill,” she said.
