Betty lands €20,000 Fermoy Soccer Club lotto jackpot
Congratulations have been coming thick and fast for Clondulane lady, Betty Clancy who last weekend scooped the Fermoy Soccer Club €20,000 lotto jackpot.
Betty was in Fermoy Resource Centre last Thursday evening to pick up the all important cheque. Here, she was greeted by club chairman, Billy Howard and his fellow officers and committee members who oversee the running of their very successful lotto.
Billy said the club had got a 'great run' from the hefty jackpot and he was delighted that Betty, a regular Fermoy Soccer Club lotto supporter, was having a big pay day. Billy went on to explain how important the lotto was to the club.
"It's a very important source of income for our club and is well supported by the people of Fermoy," Billy said.
For her part, Betty said she was 'absolutely thrilled' that her lucky numbers of 08, 13, 22 & 24 had come up, she purchased the ticket from Noel Cannon. She has no immediate plans for the money but reassures us, it will be well spent.
One of the region's most active sporting organisations, Fermoy Soccer Club can lay claim to being the first group to set up a lotto in the town - that was back in 1994.
