Amber Oil Costcutter, Fermoy wins best forecourt award
While the spotlight was very much on Tidy Towns awards this week, one local business quietly clocked up another award for its premises.
Amber Oil Costcutter in Fermoy won Costcutter's 'Best Forecourt' award at their annual awards ceremony, held in the Ritz Carlton, Powerscourt, Enniskerry, Co Wicklow. Kevin Rice, General Manager of Amber Oil Costcutter accepted the award on behalf of owner Liam Fitzgerald.
"We're thrilled to have won the Costcutter award for best forecourt. It's a great honour. A lot of the credit goes to the staff for ensuring the high quality customer service delivered every day," he said.
24 awards were presented at the event. The competition began back in March with a secret shopper audit which focused on the customer's shopping experience and the various different elements which dictated whether it was an enjoyable experience, including professionalism, focus on the customer and maintaining excellent store standards.
Managing Director of the Barry Group which operates the Costcutter franchise, Jim Barry said Amber Oil knew what they were doing when they secured Dave Ryan's services. "His vast experience in the retail sector has ensured that this landmark forecourt site is the talk of the industry and worthy winner of this award."
Mr Barry said that while the past year had again proven to be challenging, by working together they were in a positive position. "This can be attributed to the positive attitude that embodies all our finalists' stores who provide a vital service to the community at an exceptionally high standard. It's a tribute to the management and staff that, even in the current climate, they have continued to improve their standards of service and customer care," he said.
