Clondakin originated as a monastic settlement in 600 AD, The round tower which still stands in the village centre was built around a century later, as part of the monastery.
The town now has large residential areas with all the amenities to support it's growing population. It is served by many Dublin Bus routes (51b, 51c, 68, 69, 78a and 151) and also has the Luas Red Line running to the Red Cow Roundabout - providing links with Tallaght and Dublin City.
