Welcome to Charleville
Charleville or Rath Luirc (Rath Luirc or An Rath ) is a town in north County Cork, situated in Ireland's Golden Vale, near the border with County Limerick.
Charleville's name originates from 'Charles Town' showing the town's 17th century foundation. The name was Gaelicised in the 1920s to Rath Luirc but this has been very sparsely used since. Significant industries in the town include Kerry Co-Op and the booming construction and services sector. The main Tralee-Cork-Dublin railway line pass through the town.
