RULES FOR THE OPERATION OF FLAGPOLES
A flagpole is a stand on which a banner is installed with the possibility of raising and lowering. They are usually used outdoors, in the open air, but there are also varieties for installation inside halls, offices, corridors and hallways. The rules below apply primarily to outdoor flagpoles, since they take on the whole range of mechanical, weather and other loads and influences.
Safe operation is based on a strong, reliable installation of the flagpole so that it does not squint, collapse or break as long as it stands and carries the banner. Therefore, it is convenient to divide the rules of use into three groups.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION RULES
- Storage of flagpoles and any accessories to them must be carried out in a dry room at a temperature slightly below room temperature.
- The mast assemblies can be stored, pre-wrapped with foil in no more than ten rows, shifting each row with wooden panels.
- Transportation of structures is carried out only disassembled, with careful packaging, excluding violation of the integrity of the parts.
INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY RULES
- The flag is attached to the cord (cable) of the flagpole by means of a carabineer. In this case, the height of the horizontal canvas should not exceed 1/3, and the height of the vertical canvas should not exceed 2/3 the height of the flagpole.
- It is forbidden to install the flagpole on moving, soft, unstable ground - otherwise it will be impossible to ensure reliable installation.
- Installation should be carried out in strict accordance with the instructions and the forces of firms authorized to carry out such work.
PREVENTION
- In case of violation of the integrity of the flagpole structure, the flag should be lowered and the structure dismantled.
- The flag must also be lowered at a wind speed of no more than 20 meters per second, as otherwise gusts of wind can disrupt the flag or tilt the flagpole.
- Preventive inspection of the mast for damage should be carried out at least twice a year, with the elimination of the detected defects (if possible).
These rules also apply to indoor flagpoles from greatyardmaster, with amendments for their size and design.
